YouthPOWER is Advancing Youth Opportunity at the District Level in India

YouthPOWER is building India’s first district-level architecture for youth opportunity. In a country where around 85 percent of people live in the districts where they were born, the platform makes disparities in education, skilling, employment, and local economies visible, comparable, and actionable.

Civic and thought leader Ruchi Gupta is addressing this gap through YouthPOWER, a flagship platform of the Future of India Foundation and India’s only platform that defines youth opportunity, measures it, and makes it actionable by linking local outcomes to elected representatives and district-level action.

By bringing together data from over 20 government sources across nearly 800 districts, YouthPOWER connects youth outcomes to elected representatives and local action, creating a model with relevance far beyond India. They support district-level leaders and institutions in strengthening youth outcomes, including increasing voter registration rates and expanding employment opportunities, while making national programs more visible, comparable, and actionable.

Having launched a database platform, secured a state-level partnership, and established the first national Youth Opportunity Report, YouthPOWER now aims to expand their programming and partnerships to scale the platform nationally.
