Entrepreneur Amma Lartey is developing a vibrant social enterprise ecosystem in Ghana, driving local innovation for critical problems. Social Enterprise Ghana is building capacity for its hundreds of members on an individual level, reaching hundreds more through training events, and is advancing the sector as a whole through policy advocacy and achievements like creating the Ghana Social Enterprise Directory and leading the establishment of the National Advisory Board for Impact Investment.

Lartey serves as the Africa regional director for Reach For Change, a venture capital philanthropy running accelerators, incubators and hubs for entrepreneurs in Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, the DRC, Chad, Senegal, and Ethiopia. “I am committed to seeing enterprise-based solutions to the numerous social and environmental challenges in Ghana scale and achieve greater impact,” says Lartey. SE Ghana was inspired by this work and by her Africa Leadership Initiative (West Africa) Fellowship at the Aspen Global Leadership Network, during which she launched SE Ghana with 20 founding organizations.
