Dr. Amy Crockett initiated CenteringPregnancy in her practice in 2009, and scaled the model across South Carolina in 2013. CenteringPregnancy, developed by the Centering Healthcare Institute, is patient-centered care that removes the doctor-patient hierarchy. It moves prenatal patients from the exam room into a conversation and support circle with other expecting mothers.
