Short Documentary Released: KC Hardin & Esperanza
Instead of beefing up law enforcement in Panama city's old quarter, real estate developer KC Hardin chose to work with entire gang hierarchies to demobilize and bring all of their members into the formal economy.
Esperanza works with individuals, gangs and the wider community to reintegrate gang members and create a safer and more resilient society. Essentially, Esperanza sets out to move people from that victim-aggressor cycle to feeling responsible for their own lives. Change happens when people feel they have the tools and capabilities to change their lives, those of their families, and the state of their communities. Watch the video below to learn more.
